Here's my CCR, enjoy!
In the lab (again)
Hello, for this blog post we will be back editing our new opener. As stated before, we switched our film opener to be more horror based, but we still used some of our older shots from when it was more teenage dream. This means that they were filmed intentionally with high natural lighting and intended to create a mood of joy. Now we needed them to be more neutral, focusing on showing the characters emotions to evoke questions compared to spread joy. Nyles had 3 main things to do now. Color grade to make the shots darker, remove the upbeat music and add ambient noise, and remove/move around shots to get rid of the happy montage mood.
After this, he had to piece together the ending shots. According to Nyles our editor, this was not difficult and pretty easy to edit as he wasn’t working to blend genres but just connecting parts of a story.
For the audio, he made sure while we were filming that he recorded voice memo audios of our dialogue on his phone in a way where he could easily hear and apply it to the scene. There was some shots that he didn’t record which used the cameras audio but he was able to make it as clear as he could. For sound effects, he used copyright free youtube audios and just matched them to where he saw fit.
Throughout the project, Nyles used Premiere Pro and high recommends it to anyone editing videos as he found it extremely easy to edit audio, color, and visuals. Thank you for reading!
