Hi girls, guys, and theys, welcome to Just A Girl. Today I’ll be talking about my openers main character analysis. Our main character is Jasmine a high school girl going on a date with the most popular guy in school. For her character we wanted to make her a sterotypical girly girl according to pop culture. She’s sometime who seems always happy and bubbly, while also plays into things like gossip and drama. We worked to portray her as girly through the use of makeup as a prop, feminine costume, upbeat music each time she is on screen.
As a person she’s probably described to be an airhead with main focuses on things like parties, maintaining popularity, cheering, and keeping the status quo. This underlying makes her someone who works to please others in order to save face. Her portrayal as clueless and having poor priorities contributes to her being stabbed in the end. Within the opener, she is warned about the people in her school being killed but chooses to ignore it to maintain her positive aura.
